Kenning Arlitsch

I have been director of the library at Central European University since September 2022. I was dean of the library at Montana State University for ten years prior to my current job and have held positions in library instruction, digital library development, IT services, and administration. My funded research has focused on search engine optimization, as well as measuring impact and use of digital repositories. I hold a MLIS from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Ph.D. in library and information science from Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany. My dissertation on Semantic Web Identity (aka “entity recognition”) examined how well research libraries and other academic organizations are understood by search engines.
