Maha Bali
Professor of Practice
American University in Cairo
Maha Bali is professor of practice at the Center for Learning and Teaching. She has been working in the field of faculty development since 2003. She currently teaches digital literacies and intercultural learning, and has taught ed tech for teachers and educational game design to undergraduates. She is a learnaholic, writeaholic and open, connected educator. She was an AMICAL coordinating committee member (2017-2019) and chair of the coordinating committee (2020-2023). She was the founding chair of AMICAL’s Digital Pedagogy committee and a member of AMICAL’s professional development committee and is currently the convener of the Open education interest group. She organized AMICAL-funded events such as Digital Pedagogy Lab Cairo: An AMICAL Institute, which took place in 2016, and co-organized TALIX in 2018. She is an editor at Hybrid Pedagogy, and editorial board member of Teaching in Higher Education; The Online Learning Journal, Learning, Media and Technology, International Journal of Educational Technology in Higher Education and the Journal of Pedagogic Development. She is co-founder of virtuallyconnecting.org and blogs at http://blog.mahabali.me
