Mai Zaki

Mai Zaki is an Associate Professor at the Department of Arabic and Translation studies, the American University of Sharjah. She has been living/working in the UAE since 2012. Prior to that, she was a Lecturer at Middlesex University, UK. She earned her PhD degree in Linguistics from Middlesex University, UK and her MA degree in Linguistics and BA degree in English Language and Literature from Ain Shams University, Egypt. She also has a Diploma in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language from SOAS, University of London. She teaches a wide range of courses including linguistics, translation, Arabic as a foreign language and Arabic heritage. Her research interests include corpus linguistics, translation studies, digital humanities, corpus stylistics and using corpora in language teaching. She also has professional experience in curriculum development, academic accreditation, teacher training and English-Arabic translation.
