Nabil Badran
Public Services Research and Instruction Manager
Lebanese American University
Hello,
I am Nabil Badran, am currently the Public Services Research and Instruction Manager at LAU. I have been working there as a full timer since 1997, and have been in the academic library domain since 1990 (I was hired as a student assistant in the library during my studying years).
During these years, I have witnessed and experienced a lot, including relocating the library physically twice, moving the whole collection, migrating from the card system to an integrated Library System, moving from 1 floor library space into 13 floors bldg. Then Covid-19 came and we had to change our approach to the library services to match the new challenges, providing online Reference/Information Literacy consultation, online training sessions, online classes, locating open resources to share with our community, approaching the publishers to gains additional benefits during those challenging times.
Finally I can say that being a librarian is a blessing for me, we deal with wonderful colleagues, we meet amazing people, and we have a chance to build a better society/learning system.
