Dr. Pakinam Shiha is an Assistant professor of Applied Linguistics. Being an English language instructor is one of the ways she fulfills her passion for Languages. Language experiences are transformative, engaging, exciting and meaningful. English, French, Russian and even Arabic dialects. This involves working in areas with sounds, structure and grammar.
She studied at the University of Alexandria (Egypt), Phonetics & Linguistics department. Received her Bachelor degree in Phonetics & Linguistics. Her Master degree in Speech Pathology involved designing a speech & language program for hearing impaired children. Working with such children and trying to make them pronounce their first words was overwhelming.
Her PhD took a different turn, Second Language Acquisition. How to teach a foreigner to articulate and use a different language.
She has a 10 years’ experience in teaching English Phonetics, Phonology, and Speech Pathology to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
She is currently the coordinator of Effat English Academy.
