Organized by the Digital Pedagogy Committee
Our students spend a lot of time doing work; both inside and outside the classroom. An e-portfolio gives students the opportunity to showcase their many talents and activities in a curated format. E-portfolios also provide the structure for students to reflect on their past learning experiences.
Are you looking for a space to curate academic work? What about documenting the activities done outside of the classroom? Join us as we discuss the many facets of e-portfolios and how we use them in our institutions.
The AMICAL Digital Pedagogy Committee invites you to participate in an upcoming webinar discussing e-portfolios in our various institutions – how we define them, why we use them, different models of implementing them in courses and institutionally, and how we assess their effectiveness.
The working agenda for the webinar is:
- Institutional ways to adopt e-portfolios (integrating them in the curriculum and at the institutional level).Pros and cons to this model, general considerations for institutions that want to implement that, the process AUP went through to achieve it.
- Individual faculty uses of e-portfolios
- Good practices to support students who aren’t familiar with deep reflection for e-portfolios. (Chime in with your suggestions!)
- Some technological considerations and different tools that people can use if they want to implement this (institutionally or individually).
In the webinar, we will discuss different applications of e-portfolios and have a guest, Yasmine Salah El Din, English Instructor at AUC, who will be sharing her experience with us.
We invite you to ask any questions ahead of time by replying to the event announcement on Connect. If you have questions while the session is running, please post the questions in the YouTube chat.
