Welcome back to a new academic year!
At the beginning of the Fall semester, the Information Literacy Committee and AMICAL digital literacy advocates Angie Popova, Nadine Aboulmagd, and Maha Bali got together. We would like to invite you to the first “Information Literacy and Digital Literacy Open Meeting” on Thursday, 17th October, 12 noon, Paris time (local time).
The idea of this meeting is to continue conversations around one of the AMICAL 2018-2021 Mellon Grant main focus areas: information and digital literacies. Our interest is to hear from the AMICAL community about ideas and projects that are linked to information and digital literacy. How can we think both literacies together? And how can they support or benefit from each other?
The interactive online meeting will gather/seek feedback and input from participants. The following agenda will guide the discussion:
- Community ideas and interest in potential digital literacy and/or information literacy initiatives
- Conversations about how the community can benefit from each other’s expertise to launch and sustain information and digital literacy initiatives
- Open Mic: sharing of current or emerging information literacy and digital literacy projects
- Call for volunteers to host a virtual forum in Fall 2019 (December)
Getting ready to hear from you! Hope to see and talk to you then!
