What did we learn from the 2015 Information Literacy Focus Groups and where do we go from there?
When we talk about Information Literacy, do we all mean the same thing? Have we integrated Information Literacy into the classroom and if yes, how? Have we integrated Information Literacy into the curriculum and if yes, how? What is the role of the library liaison program?
At the May 2015 AMICAL Conference, the Information Literacy Committee (ILC) hosted focus groups with faculty and librarians to learn more about information literacy at your institution from your point of view. We wanted to hear and learn from others as well as reinforce the importance of faculty in consortium-level discussions about information literacy, its role as one pillar of an international liberal arts curriculum, and the challenges and opportunities of working on this in AMICAL’s uniquely intercultural environments.
Join us for a one hour online forum to continue our conversation with the AMICAL community about information literacy at our institutions. We’ll present findings from the conference focus groups and discuss proposed recommendations.
