Eric Lease Morgan
Digital Initiatives Librarian
University of Notre Dame
Eric has been a librarian for more than thirty years, and he has been writing software for close to forty. Most of his experience has been in large academic research libraries, but has also worked as a medical librarian and an independent consultant. His research interests have included expert systems, recommendation & personalization services, information retrieval, “next generation” library catalogs, and most recently the Semantic Web, text mining, and the digital humanities. He has been an advocate of open source software and open access publishing since before the phrases were coined. In his spare time he can be seen folding old floppy discs into origami flora and fauna.
