Laurie Allen
Assistant Director for Digital Scholarship
University of Pennsylvania
As the Coordinator for Digital Scholarship and Services at the Haverford Libraries, Laurie collaborated with library colleagues and student assistants to create and implement a digital scholarship program at a small Liberal Arts College outside Philadelphia. The team was responsible for: partnering with faculty and students on long-term digital scholarship projects; providing support for pedagogical engagement with multi-modal scholarship; and creating infrastructure to support widespread engagement with digital scholarship, especially taking advantage of the collections within the Haverford Libraries. In her role as the Assistant Director for Digital Scholarship at the Penn Libraries, beginning in February 2016, Laurie will lead a new digital scholarship team. Laurie served as the co-chair of the planning committee for the first Digital Library Federation Pre-Conference for Liberal Arts Colleges.
