How to apply
Online
Passport holders of certain countries can obtain an e-visa online (note that the full list may not be visible at first, so scroll to the right to see additional countries) or upon arrival to Kuwait International Airport. Residents of GCC Countries (Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman), regardless of their citizenship, are also eligible to apply for e-visa.
Do not start your visa application before December 16, if applying online, as the visa will allow you to enter Kuwait State only within a month from its issuance. The visa will take only a few working days to be issued.
If you’re staying at the conference hotel, use this address during the e-visa process:
- Area: Salmiyah
- Governorate: Hawally
- Block: 4
- Street: Salem Almubarak Street
- Building Type: Hotel
More information is available at the E-Visa website.
Through the American University of Kuwait (as host institution)
Nationals of other countries that are not eligible for an e-visa will need to arrange for visa prior to arrival to Kuwait International Airport through the host institution. They may request this when filling in the conference registration form.
Applicants will need to provide a scan of their passport and academic degree.
For all cases
The validity of the passport must exceed six months when applying for Kuwait visa. The visa will be valid to enter the State of Kuwait within a month from the day of issuance for a single entry. Once admitted, visitors will be able to stay in Kuwait for up to 90 days. Upon your arrival, a visa fee of 3KD may be required for some passport holders to obtain the visa at the border entry point.
Although it’s not needed for the visa, an invitation letter for any registered participant can be requested from the organizers at amicalconf@amicalnet.org.
