DHI-B 2017 is an event focused on providing digital humanities training, to be held 10-12 March 2017 at the American University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon. The theme this year in 2017 is “Shaping Digital Humanities Communities: Local, Regional and Consortial.” Open to local and regional organisations, DHI-B will also welcome AMICAL members. DHI-B will explore elements of digital humanities practice with a combination of local and consortial instructors as well as invited international guests. This event is open to faculty, librarians and technologists. More information about the event, including a schedule of events and a list of workshops offered, can be found at the DHI-B website.
AMICAL is co-sponsoring DHI-B to facilitate the attendance of an AMICAL cohort.
AMICAL’s Digital Scholarship Committee has identified DHI-B as an excellent opportunity for faculty, librarians and instructional design staff already somewhat involved in, or significantly interested in digital humanities or digital scholarship in general. To that end, AMICAL has awarded the DHI-B Organizing Committee a grant that will allow AMICAL members to apply competitively for funding to attend the event.
