How to apply and attend
Individuals at AMICAL institutions can apply for funding to attend DHI-B 2017. Some basic personal information is required as well as a small statement (250-750 words) about current interest in, engagement with or future institutional plans for digital scholarship in the individual’s AMICAL institution.
AMICAL-funded participants will receive financial support for travel and accommodation. The hotel in Beirut may include breakfast, and there will be light breakfast and lunch provided on campus during the institute. All other costs, including visas, other meals, ground transportation and incidental costs, will be the responsibility of participants or their institutions. There is no registration fee for this event.
The funding application includes a question concerning a visa letter. If a letter of participation is required for the visa application, this should be made known to the organizers of the event upon application. It is the responsibility of the participants to secure a visa in advance of the event. Certain visitors to Lebanon can receive a visa upon arrival. Note: Israeli entry stamps or certain exit stamps from surrounding countries in the passport will bar travellers entry into the Republic of Lebanon.
The deadline for funding applications is January 15. Decisions will be made by January 22. The digital scholarship committee of AMICAL will balance an individual’s preparation for such an event, promise for impact of his/her participants with requests made from underrepresented AMICAL institutions.
