Unconference
The goals of the AMICAL Conference are knowledge sharing, skill development, project building and inspiration. To further support attendees in making the most out of the conference and potentially reaching these goals, we provide space and structure for… unstructured and informal sessions, led by you and based on an idea that you might have, something you might be working on or might be interested in working on, a common goal or shared interest.
We call it the unconference.
You don’t need to have a presentation, just an idea or a question. We strongly recommend that you participate, especially if you:
- Already submitted a proposal that was not included in the conference program
- Want to set the ball rolling on a new project
- Are curious about something
How it works
During AMICAL 2017, there are two unconference sessions. In the beginning of each session, we first gather in the event space of the library and invite you to pitch your idea for an unconference session, by taking the stage for up to two minutes. After everyone pitches their idea, we go over all the proposed sessions and people who are interested for each one form a group and head to a room that will be designated on the spot.
The unconference sessions are a significant part of the conference program. Make sure you take advantage of this great opportunity to initiate a discussion, learn or teach something new. And don’t forget to share the outcome on AMICAL Connect.
