Expectations of participants
All participants will be expected to commit to the following:
Before the workshop
Prepare for the workshop by reading two articles :
- One article chosen by the participating faculty member about core concepts in their academic discipline
- Share the article before the workshop event with your librarian, the workshop leaders and organisers (by the beginning of March)
- Read the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy in Higher Education
Workshop follow up
May 17-20, 2017: The participating faculty-librarian pairs are encouraged to actively participate in the 2017 AMICAL Conference in Thessaloniki/Greece. “This year’s theme is ‘Centering on learning: Partnerships & professional development among librarians, faculty & technologists’.” It will give “special focus to partnerships between librarians, faculty and faculty developers, and to related partnerships around digital pedagogy, digital scholarship, and information literacy.”
What could be a meaningful way of continuing the workshop effort? Including information about potential Conference sessions that you can lead or participate in will make your workshop application stronger.
January/February 2018: Given the fact that the pilot courses will take place in Fall 2017, the participating faculty-librarian teams will be asked to report back in Spring 2018 on lessons learned with regard to the implementation plan and the pilot course (via online meetings). The feedback will be based on the assessment tools used during the course. The aim is to prepare a collaborative feedback presentation at the 2018 AMICAL conference.
